Dwan Abrams  is a full-time novelist. She's the author of Divorcing the Devil, Only True Love Waits, winner of the 2007 Pen of the Writer POWER Award for Best Fiction, The Scream Within and Favor (short story appearing in The Midnight Clear anthology). Her novel, Married Strangers, will be released in December 2008. She's the founder, publisher and executive director of Nevaeh Publishing, a small press independent publishing house. She will appear as a contestant on the upcoming reality show, The Ultimate Author. She currently resides in a suburb of Atlanta with her family

 

Montre' Bible was born in Dallas, TX in 1978. He attended Texas A&M University-Commerce where he pledged Alpha Phi Alpha and graduated with at degree in art.  He has acted in theatre and film.  Montre' is the author of Heaven Sent, his debut novel which received rave reviews.  Aside from writing, he enjoys traveling and dancing and worships at a messianic synagogue in the Dallas area.  Heaven Bound is his second title.

 

Shana Johnson Burton is a high school English teacher in Macon, GA, where she lives with her husband and two sons. She enjoys dancing, reading, and spending time with her family when she is not writing. She is also the author of Suddenly Single.

 

Monica P. Carter, a former journalist, is now a full-time freelance writer and motivational speaker.  She writes a weekly newspaper column which has won several awards, and is the author of one other previously self-published title in addition to Sacrifice the One.  Monica currently resides in Shreveport, LA.

 

Renea Collins was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. She now resides in Columbus, Ohio where she is a cosmetologist with vision and a plan. She is the founder of Daughter of the King Productions, Inc., a company designed to launch, empower and promote Christian works. From the Extreme is Renea’s debut title. Renea’s desire is to allow others to experiences the raw truth of urban Christian testimonies.  She has produced and directed her first documentary titled To the Extreme, which will be featured at the 2008 Indy New York Film Festival.

 

Keshia Dawn  completed her first novel in 2003, but lost the entire manuscript due to an office fire that was connected to her apartment wiring. Within two days of the disaster, By the Grace of God was put into her heart, and from there her Christian fiction writing began. In 2003 Keshia’s short story titled “I Do” was voted short story of the year by SORMAG Magazine. She has written articles for the online magazines, AAkulture Zone and The A-Spot. She currently resides in Temple, Texas (Austin) where she owns a boutique while continuing her education at the local college.

 

Ashea S. Goldson , a native of New York City, is a wife of twenty years and a mother of two. A Fordham University graduate, she has been an educator and owner for seventeen years of a Christian school. A poet in her own right, Ashea has written several collections of poetry and has written for local publications while she continues to produce a semi-annual literary journal.

 

Brittney Holmes  is a member of the 2008 class of Redan High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where she finished with a 4.1 GPA and served as Salutatorian of her graduating class. For her outstanding academic and extracurricular status, she is recognized in Who’s Who Among High School Students. A gifted poet and award-winning author, Brittney is a youth contributing writer for Global Woman Magazine. Testing Relationships is her sophomore novel. Brittney is currently enrolled as a rising freshman a UGA (University of Georgia) in Athens, GA, where she is majoring in Mass Communications with a focus on Journalism. 

 

Sherryle Kiser Jackson   was born and raised in Prince Georges County, MD where she continues to reside with her husband and two children.  She is an English/Language Arts teacher at the middle school level. Soon And Very Soon is her first published novel.

 

Mimi Jefferson  had a conversation that literally changed the course of her life approximately five years ago.  During the conversation, the young man that she was speaking with discussed the women in his life as if they were jewels that had forgotten they were supposed to shine.  Alarmed, Mimi wondered if her friend echoed the sentiments of other men.  She wanted to tell every single woman what the young man had just told her.  Mimi, a college student and bank teller at the time, never pictured herself as a novelist.  But that evening, she started writing what is now her first book, The Single Sister Experiment.  Realizing the slim chance of such a meeting taking place, she created a fictional account.  The Single Sister Experiment is not just Mimi's novel, it represents her current ministry.  Mimi Jefferson has a B.S. in Christian Ministry and lives in the Houston, TX area with her husband.

 

E.N. Joy  is a multi-genre writer of Christian fiction, children’s stories and young adult-humor. Her first published title under the name E.N. Joy is children’s book, The Secret Olivia Told Me. Me, Myself and Him is her first full-length Christian fiction novel. E.N. Joy is also the editor of the anthology Even Sinners Have Souls. In addition to writing books, E.N. Joy is a columnist for Noire Magazine in which her column is titled “The Urban Altar”. This author currently resides in the Midwest with her husband, son and two daughters.

 

Michelle Larks released her first book, a collection of prose and poetry entitled A Myriad of Emotions in 2003 and was sited by respected review groups as "an author to watch."  Her second title, Crisis Mode, was released in 2004 and was named best novella. Her first and second full length novels were released in 2006 and her literary contributions gained her the recognition of outstanding citizen of 2005 in her hometown of Bolingbrook.  Michelle is a member of RWA and the Tri-County Writer's Guild.  She is the mother of two daughers and is employed as a systems programmer in Illinois where she resides with her husband.

 

Sherri L. Lewis    received her bachelor’s degree from Howard University and her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Her short story, Christmas Fruit appears in an anthology titled Midnight Clear, and her debut novel, My Soul Cries Out reached national bestselling status. Her sophomore title, Dance Into Destiny is now available for purchase.  Sherri is a co-founder of the Atlanta Black Christian Fiction Writers’ Critique Group. She is also a member of the American Christian Fiction Writers and serves as President of the organization’s Southeast Atlanta Chapter. She lives in Atlanta, GA.

 

Shelia E. Lipsey Lipsey is a bestselling author who penned the Christian fiction novel, Into Each Life, followed by the scintillating tale, Sinsatiable. She is an inspirational speaker, poet and editor. She is also the founding president of Memphis African American Writers, regular columnist for BlogginginBlack.com and a member of several online writing groups. Ms. Lipsey is also the president of UC His Glory Book Club (Urban Christian's online book club).

 

Valerie Love  is an inspirational speaker, author and the president and founder of The Power of Love Worldwide, a ministry that teaches others how to use the power of love to become the most magnificent and excellent version of themselves that is possible.  Valerie has been a guest speaker at American Express, Rock International Church, Financial Destination Inc., United Faith Church of Deliverance (2006 Women's Conference), FEW (Federally Employed Women), Life International Ministries, Booz Allen & Hamilton, and more.  She is currently studying under spiritual life counselor and author, Iyanla Vanzant, at the Inner Visions Institute for Spiritual Development, pursuing a certification as a spiritual life coach.  She will complete the program in 2008.  Valerie lives in the Washington, DC metropolitan area with her husband and three of the couple's four children.

 

Rhonda McKnight is the President of "Visions in Print," the southeast Atlanta chapter of national organization, American Christian Fiction Writers. In 2007, she completed a master’s degree in adult education at Capella University and works as a regional training consultant for a state food and nutrition program.  A natural born orator, she looks forward to reaching out to readers through book club meetings and writing workshops. She grew up in New Jersey and now makes her home in Atlanta, Georgia, where she lives with her family. Issues of the Heart is her first novel.

 

Mikasenoja  originally hails from Austin, Texas and enjoys a literary career that spans over 15 years to include the work she’s done for stage and print magazine. Confessions of a Preacher’s Wife is her debut fictional novel. Mikasenoja possesses a compassionate heart of ministry for clergy wives and church leaders. She holds a B.A. in Government and African-American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She currently lives in League City, Texas (a suburb of Houston, TX) with her husband, Pastor C.L. Yancy, Sr. and their four children, Joshua, William, Jennifer and C.J.

 

Monique Miller  is from Warsaw, North Carolina and is a 1994 graduate from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina, with a degree in Foods and Nutrition.  She is a member of the Divine Literary Tour (DLT) a non-profit organization which brings together Black Greek Authors from across the nation for a cross-country tour to promote literacy.  She has also written articles for the AGM Ministries, Inc. in Jacksonville, North Carolina.  Monique's creative writing landed her a placement in the 2003 Black Expressions Book Club's Annual Fiction Writing Contest, submitting the first chapter of her of her then titled manuscript, Saving The Best For Last, now titled Secret Sisterhood. Secret Sisterhood is Monique's debut novel set to release October 2007.  Her sophomore novel, Soul Confessions (sequel to Secret Sisterhood) is due to release in April 2008.  Currently, Monique resides in Cary, North Carolina with her family.

 

Vanessa Miller is a gifted playwright and the award winning, best selling author of four titles. She a founding member of Anointed Authors On Tour, a group of Christian authors that tour major cities annually, spreading the message of Jesus Christ through literature. Vanessa is currently working toward touring her fifth stage play, constructed from her debut novel, Former Rain.

 

Dijorn Moss  was once diagnosed with a learning disability. During his senior year in high school he got aspirations to want to go to college, but his counselor told him that it would take a minor miracle for him to achieve that.  Despite getting numerous rejections from schools at college fairs, he applied to college anyway and soon enough found himself walking the campus of San Jose State, where he graduated in 2003.  Now, years later, he has become something no one ever thought he could be; a published author. Dijorn is proof that when man says ‘no’, God says ‘yes’. Dijorn lives with his wife in California and continues to strive as he works on his next novel.

 

Nikita Lynnette Nichols is employed by the Chicago Transit Authority. She serves faithfully under the leadership of Apostle Donald Lawrence Alford at Progressive Life-Giving Word Cathedral in Hillside, Illinois. Nikita’s hobbies are shoe shopping, reading, and indulging in milk chocolate. Her first novel, None But The Righteous, was published in 2004 and has been chosen as book of the month by various churches throughout the Chicago area, including the largest church, Salem Baptist, where Senator Rev. James T. Meeks is pastor.

 

Kendra Norman-Bellamy, is a Florida native and a #1 Essence magazine bestselling author.  The third child born to Bishop H.H. and Mrs. Francine Norman, she spent most of her formative years in South Georgia and graduated with honors from Valdosta Technical College.  Her love for words began with writing poetry as an elementary school student and blossomed into novel writing in the late 1990’s.   Kendra began her career as a self-published author.  Her debut novel was released in August 2002 and was nominated Best Christian Fiction release of that year.  Today, Kendra is the decorated author of one dozen published works and resides in metropolitan Atlanta with her husband and two daughters.

 

Sharon Oliver   is a native of Baltimore, MD. During her school years in South Carolina, the author developed an affection and appreciation for the south and its culture. A freelance writer and former government employee, Sharon Oliver resides in the Atlanta area.

 

Titus Pollard   comes to the Urban Christian imprint with the debut novel, Living Right on Wrong Street. He is also a critically acclaimed Jazz & Gospel musician, educator, playwright, and actor. In addition to his writing, his most recent projects include his role as Rev. Cole in the film A Black Woman’s Guide to Getting Married, and the Gospel music CD Conversation with a Psalmist.  He is probably best known for his world-renowned video instruction series Learn to Play Gospel Piano. Nicole S. Rouse  was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She developed a passion for writing as a young child in grade school.  After graduating from Temple University, Nicole became an elementary school teacher, where her students learned to appreciate numerous forms of writing.  As a teacher, she became a member of the Northern Virginia Writing Project, where she promoted and encouraged writing in mathematics.  She helped to organize a literacy team that created plays for students to perform and developed workshops for parents to help their children excel.  Nicole has contributed articles to South County Chronicle, a local newsletter for Northern Virginia residents, and Remah, a newsletter for the members of New Faith Baptist Church in Matteson, Illinois.  After five years in the classroom, Nicole was given the opportunity to pursue a career in publishing and is currently an editor at a major educational publishing company.  She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and resides near Chicago, IL.  Happily Ever Now, her debut novel, was released September 2007. The sequel, Someone To Love Me, is scheduled to release in June 2009.

 

Pat Simmons  has been a news writer and assignment editor for the past eight years for a CBS affiliate in Missouri. Prior to that, she worked as a talk show host, board operator, and news reporter for various radio stations for ten years. She is the co-publicist at Midwest Publicity, a two-woman team, handling the media publicity for the Romantic Times BOOKlovers’ yearly conventions, and securing interviews for national bestselling authors such as L.A. Banks, Bobbi Smith, Christina Skye, and Heather Graham. Pat holds a B.S. in Mass Communications from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She is married and has a daughter and son attending college. Her novels include Guilty of Love and Talk to Me. Pat is the recepient of the Katherine D. Jones award and a bestselling author.

 

Hank Stewart is a highly acclaimed Emmy Award winning poet and writer who is a catalyst for action and a messenger of hope.  He considers spirituality, history and love as his major influences for delving into the world of literature. Michelle Caple Taylor  resides in Richmond, VA with her husband, Marvin, and their three children.  She is the daughter of Reverend Joe H. Caple and Gracie Caple.  As a graduate of Kee Business College, she holds a degree in Business Computer Administration.  Michelle began her career as a self-published author in 1998 with the release of her first book titled Mental Incarceration…it’s all in your mind.  Her second book, Jesus Lives (2006) has been an inspiration to readers.  Michelle developed a passion for writing at a very young age.  In 2000, she appeared as a guest writer for Imani Magazine.  In 2003, her writing career led her into Radio and she hosted a radio talk show for a local gospel station.  Michelle has been featured on local news stations and featured in newspapers throughout the tri-state area.  She currently works as a Housing Counselor and is Minister of the Gospel at her local church in Richmond, VA. In her spare time she enjoys writing, reading, praise dancing, ministering the Word and spending time with her family.

 

T.N. Williams  was born and raised in Muskegon, MI.  Writing short stories and poems had been a passion from childhood, but it wasn't until graduating from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor degree in Sociology, that she began to fully embrace that God-given gift and relate it to the diversity of people.  She has received several awards for recognition from the International Society of Poets and collaborated poetic work in the published collection entitled Traces of the Infinite.  Since college, T.N. uses her experience in the field of Employment Services and currently resides outside of Charlotte, NC with her three children.  Something on the Inside is her debut novel.
